Thank-You Notes, 2016 are pillow-sized objects made of foam and paper with acrylic skin stretched and glued over the surface.They reflect niceties in the face of sorrow.
Florence, Winter 2015 In Florence in the winter of 2015, I used ink on paper to record my daily walk.
Festina Lente (Make Haste Slowly), 2012 is a series of large digital prints. Based on scans of 7" x 9" pen drawings and manipulated photo images, this series evokes a day in our Sorrento, Italy life. I use surface articulation and baroque architectural decoration to evoke the hilarity and tragedy of our ever-disintegrating forms. The Latin phrase, used by Roman emperors and much later by the Medicis, touches on the delicate balance between urgency and contemplation.
Cartouche series, 2011 Charcoal and acrylic on paper, 22" x 30" (Consort's Tomb). I had an idea about the magnetism of architectural details. The decorative fragments, divorced from forced symmetry, cling to passageways (doors and windows) as if plotting their escape.
